Topic: Body weight standard profile
Dharani Ranasinghe (Nov 18 2021 at 13:13):
When measuring body weight, sometimes it is important to know how the patient was dressed. I wonder why there is no proper element in Body weight standard profile to cater that attribute. If I share the openEHR definition of Body weight arche type it has such support. ,https://ckm.openehr.org/ckm/archetypes/1013.1.2960/mindmap

The base body weight profile is pretty minimalist. It's setting the lowest common denominator across all systems in the world. It doesn't prevent sending additional components with more nuance for those who want to do this. There are other IGs that provide vital signs profiles that capture further information. E.g. http://build.fhir.org/ig/HL7/cimi-vital-signs/StructureDefinition-BodyWeight.html

If you read the base FHIR vital signs profile you will see it mentioned as well: http://hl7.org/fhir/R4/observation-vitalsigns.html#vitals-table
