As a possible FHIR Service implementer, knowing that there are a pile of Apps that have implemented FHIR. Of the apps that have implemented FHIR: How many are only DSTU2, vs STU3, vs both? is this known? Is this graphed? Seems like an interesting Venn diagram.

we have no way to collect that data

It is right there in the App CapabilityStatement... right?
There should be an overall 'app store', that makes no claims of trustworthyness; but could then catalog tis.

How many apps (FHIR clients) provide CapabilityStatements (none of mine do); it's low on the list because it provides me with little value. This might change if "app stores" for SMART on FHIR apps required them.

there's an operation where you can upload a capability statement and ask the server if it supports that

My (smarter) clients general query the server and then adapt, reducing capability when the server is limited. I guess this might help for the "drop dead" capabilities.
