Topic: ValueSets copyright requirements
Cooper Thompson (Mar 08 2022 at 16:16):
PA is updating Appointment (FMM=3) to include some properties that reference existing value sets (e.g. http://hl7.org/fhir/R4/valueset-timezones.html, owned by FHIR-I).
- These value sets are throwing build warnings because they include external codes, but don't have copyright info.
- FMM>1 content can't have build warnings.
Per https://www.iana.org/help/licensing-terms, IANA doesn't really consider their content subject to copyright, but they have a CYA section anyway.
Two questions:
- Should I be updating FHIR-I valuesets to add copyright info as part of the PA tracker I'm applying?
- What is the right way to reference the IANA non-copyright? Just link to their licensing terms page?

- Yes
- Best to ask the HTA
Grahame Grieve (Mar 08 2022 at 22:29):
yes just link to their licensing terms for now, and then ask HTA to review
