Topic: VSTS Build
Josh Mandel (Jul 31 2018 at 17:33):
OK, I have a public build at https://fhir-build.visualstudio.com/build.fhir.org/_build/index?context=mine&path=%5C&definitionId=3&_a=history -- probably some new bugs introduced, but notifications will come here and we can continue to evaluate.
Josh Mandel (Jul 31 2018 at 17:34):
Thanks to @Michael Hansen for advice + support in getting this running. And for anyone interested, the VM setup is documented at https://github.com/hl7-fhir/auto-ig-builder/tree/master/vsts-build/fhir-vm-template.
Grahame Grieve (Jul 31 2018 at 20:10):
so are we ready to transit to this one?
Josh Mandel (Aug 01 2018 at 02:49):
Let me re-enable the publication push to build.fhir.org
. If that's working well, we can cut over tomorrow.
Grahame Grieve (Aug 01 2018 at 04:23):
+1
Josh Mandel (Aug 01 2018 at 20:52):
BTW Grahame, are there currently disabled validations that we should try enabling in the VSTS build? (We could always do two builds, e.g., with the more stringent one as an FYI, or even as a gate on publication, while also getting a "fast result" back to this Zulip channel.)
Grahame Grieve (Aug 01 2018 at 21:40):
yes there are additional validations
Grahame Grieve (Aug 01 2018 at 21:40):
how much do people value the fast response?
Lloyd McKenzie (Aug 01 2018 at 22:11):
Fast response that's not complete isn't very valuable. If I'm staying up to make sure the build is successful but subsequently it's deemed broken, that doesn't help much. We need to presume that anything not caught by the fast response will be ignored. If we don't want stuff ignored, then just have one response.
Bryn Rhodes (Aug 01 2018 at 22:59):
I'd agree with that, but I do like the fast response :)
Grahame Grieve (Aug 01 2018 at 23:05):
so.. no change for now... I'll add the validation back into the build
Rob Hausam (Aug 02 2018 at 00:52):
isn't adding the validation back into the build a change?
