Topic: QA Reports
Grahame Grieve (Oct 10 2018 at 03:51):
There's plenty of open tasks like this: GF#17614. It seems to me that it's not worth spending the time to process them now. Any opinions?
Lloyd McKenzie (Oct 10 2018 at 04:36):
It makes sense to hold on to them for use during the QA period at least
Lloyd McKenzie (Oct 10 2018 at 04:37):
Hard to ask people to do QA if we don't (eventually) take advantage of their work...
Grahame Grieve (Oct 10 2018 at 04:43):
we mostly do, and we did apply many of those changes, but not all of them.
Grahame Grieve (Oct 10 2018 at 04:43):
but I don't see the point of 'holding onto them'. I'm not even sure what it means...
Lloyd McKenzie (Oct 10 2018 at 15:07):
It means that if we don't have a chance to apply them before the QA period, we can at least look at applying them during the QA period
Grahame Grieve (Oct 10 2018 at 16:51):
I believe that you are arguing that we should not delete the tasks from gForge
Lloyd McKenzie (Oct 10 2018 at 17:39):
Or mark them as not-persuasive
Lloyd McKenzie (Oct 10 2018 at 17:39):
Or kick them to R5
Grahame Grieve (Oct 10 2018 at 18:04):
ok let's kick them to R5 then
Lloyd McKenzie (Oct 10 2018 at 18:06):
I was saying don't kick them to R5. It's QA against R4, so we ought to apply it if we can.
Grahame Grieve (Oct 10 2018 at 18:08):
well, ok... but the problem is, many things have been fixed. many have been orphaned. We're probably talking about a 20% yield. I do not believe that we have time
Grahame Grieve (Oct 10 2018 at 18:09):
R3/R4 conversions are way more important and that's a real problem for me now
Lloyd McKenzie (Oct 10 2018 at 18:16):
Agree that this isn't a good use of your time. Perhaps we can find someone else who can go through these.
Lloyd McKenzie (Oct 10 2018 at 18:16):
I'll get Anne to put it on the FMG agenda
