Topic: Missing element id

I've made some updates via the spreadsheet - adding new attributes, etc. When I run the build, it fails due to element id = Null. I would have expected this to be added automatically since there is no place in the spreadsheet to enter this. Do I also need to edit the structure definition xml file to add this? @Mark Iantorno @Grahame Grieve

Looks like manually editing the xml file allows the build to run. Is it expected that this second step needs to be done or should it be automatically populated?

I've run into this same issue, with missing 'id' attributes for the elements that are changed in the spreadsheet. And yes, it is fixed by adding the missing 'id' attributes in the xml, but that required quite a bit of manual editing to do. So this should be fixed in the IG Publisher. @Grahame Grieve @Mark Iantorno

is this still a problem?

Yes. It happens when you make changes in the spreadsheet. When you run the build, the element id is not populated. I went in and manually added the id in the xml file.

Yes, it certainly was a problem for me.

I was renaming an element and I got that same id = null error. Trying to work around it by editing/renaming the element in the StructureDefinition

Yes, that seems to be only way to fix at this point. Grahame is aware.
