Topic: IG Publisher Questions
Grahame Grieve (Jul 15 2016 at 05:08):
I have a question about IG authoring. Does anyone think it would be unreasonable if I made a rule that the IG publisher does not support contained conformance resources?
Bryn Rhodes (Jul 15 2016 at 17:48):
Seems unreasonable to me, wouldn't one of the most useful resources to distribute with an IG be a formal description of the conformance for the IG?
Grahame Grieve (Jul 15 2016 at 20:53):
um, I'm not sure what you mean. I specifically mean that I'm going to prohibit using DomainResource.contained
Bryn Rhodes (Jul 15 2016 at 20:55):
So you could still distribute conformance resources as part of the IG content, just not as part of the ImplementationGuide?
Grahame Grieve (Jul 15 2016 at 20:57):
indeed yes, of course. that's the whole point
Bryn Rhodes (Jul 15 2016 at 20:57):
Okay, then I misunderstood the implications.
Grahame Grieve (Jul 15 2016 at 20:58):
ok great
Lloyd McKenzie (Jul 15 2016 at 22:44):
Contained value sets are reasonable in some cases I think. I'm not sure about other contained things.
Grahame Grieve (Jul 15 2016 at 22:46):
I agree that contained value sets seem reasonable, but I don't know how to publish contained resources
Lloyd McKenzie (Jul 15 2016 at 22:51):
Fair point
Eric Haas (Jul 16 2016 at 00:50):
I need some clarity. So we are not supporting .contained for example instances? Or as a profile constraint for conformance resources only. We need to support it for contained Medications for MedicationStatement and MedicationOrder. So since is a clinical resource that would be allowed.
Eric Haas (Jul 16 2016 at 00:54):
For publishing do you mean creating the SD views for a contained thingy?
Grahame Grieve (Jul 16 2016 at 00:56):
yes - conformance resource. other contained resources in examples are fine
