At the Baltimore FMG lunch meeting, I vaguely recall there being instructions on settting up and using Git (rather than SVN). All I've been able to find are the instructions at http://wiki.hl7.org/index.php?title=FHIR_Build_Process#Set_up. Is there a more comprehensive set of instructions? A pointer to the best page of instructions would be appreciated. Thanks.

After installing tortoiseGit, I get a notification that a git.exe is required. Is there a path to use (it doesn't seem to be the AppData folder as some sites suggest it should be) or do I need to install Git for Windows too? The TortoiseGit with FHIR page doesn't seem to cover this. Thanks

yes you need to install git for windows too

I installed git for windows and was able to clone the repository and make a branch. I made a small change (added a comment to Immunization.isSubpotent (per gForge #18867) but when I run publish.bat the build is unsuccessful. I can't decipher the error messages but it doesn't seem to be related to the Immunization resource. For such a small change, would it be safe to commit the changes and create a pull-request? Once the repository has been downloaded, the actual updating of the spreadsheets and XML files hasn't changed has it? Thanks.

what is the error message?

view this post on Zulip Craig Newman (Oct 15 2018 at 19:35):

Sigh, I didn't capture it. I'll tell in you 2 hours when it's done running again (that's what it's been taking today)

2 hours? ouch. it takes me 20 minutes

view this post on Zulip Craig Newman (Oct 15 2018 at 19:44):

It has routinely run in 45 minutes the first time (and then quicker every time after that). I don't know if something is different since the move from SVN or if my machine is just slow today.
