Topic: GF#16481
Grahame Grieve (Jun 13 2018 at 04:49):
GF#16481 is labelled as ready to vote to remove a section from the specification: http://build.fhir.org/profiling.html#presentation
Grahame Grieve (Jun 13 2018 at 04:50):
I have a problem with this because the section was added in response to some ballot issue in a past ballot.
Grahame Grieve (Jun 13 2018 at 04:50):
I'm interested in comments from editors about this (it's really an editorial section)

There's a few problems with this section:
- It's not true for a lot of the IGs
- I
Lloyd McKenzie (Jun 13 2018 at 12:18):
- It's not saying much that's useful (especially the "not done yet" stuff)
- Presentation stuff doesn't really belong in the profiling space - it should be in the section that deals with rendering if we include it at all
John Moehrke (Jun 13 2018 at 12:41):
It is not helpful in the current state. It is unclear to me that enhancement would bring something useful. These might be the ways a profile is displayed today, but is it always true, is it a minimal expectation? What was the original ballot issue that caused this to be created?
Grahame Grieve (Jun 13 2018 at 12:56):
it's true about the ways IG can present profiles. But it's actually intended to be true about the spec and to explain why we have multiple views, which is the the focus of the original comment
Lloyd McKenzie (Jun 13 2018 at 13:00):
Rather than enumerating the views, it might be better to just indicate that, like the resource definitions, multiple views can exist and that those views might be based on the snapshot or the differential representation - and what that means.
John Moehrke (Jun 13 2018 at 13:01):
saying less would be better than removal.
Grahame Grieve (Jun 13 2018 at 13:04):
ok
