Topic: Zulip formatting
Ward Weistra (Feb 12 2021 at 09:17):
There's two useful Zulip formatting features I just learned about:
Timezone aware time
Start typing <time
and a datetime picker shows up. Select a date and time and it will be displayed for everyone in their local timezone.
For example: The next FHIR-I call starts at .
Spoiler block
While officially meant for spoilers it can be abused to have a collapse/expand block in your text for any reason:
This is how you create one

Just testing this (thx Ward)
What do you call a belt with a watch on it?
Nurse: Blood type?
Chris Moesel (Feb 12 2021 at 18:49):
I foresee this feature being used for ill a lot in this community. :stuck_out_tongue_wink:
Vassil Peytchev (Feb 12 2021 at 18:54):
Note that this doesn't work (yet?) In the app (at least on Android)
Josh Mandel (Feb 12 2021 at 19:06):
The "spoilers" work for me on android. And viewing >time
s works too (I can't create one though)
David Pyke (Feb 12 2021 at 19:07):
Why can't a nose be 12 inches long?
David Pyke (Feb 12 2021 at 19:12):
Okay now that I know it does auto code highlighting, we need a FSH highlighter
Josh Mandel (Feb 12 2021 at 19:15):
Re: FSH, see https://chat.fhir.org/#narrow/stream/179238-Zulip/topic/Custom.20code.20formatting @David Pyke
Chris Moesel (Feb 12 2021 at 19:27):
Right. We'd like to get FSH highlighting in Zulip too. It just hasn't made it to the top of our todo list yet. If anyone wants to take it up, they're more than welcome to!
