Are their any Implementation Guides underway to address the use cases defined by the Transparency in Coverage final rule?

Yes -- Da Vinci has a Cost Transparency use case. I am reviewing the Final Rule to determine how it will impact the scope of the use case and the resulting FHIR IG.

Is the goal to have a STU1 publication to address the 1/1/2022 data file requirement?
If my reading is correct, every implementer will probably have a custom format. The final rule mentioned the possibility of a technical standard requirement in the future.

@Lloyd McKenzie is there a prospective date for this? I mean I understand if it's not cast in stone but even a guesstimate would help.

I don't think any work has happened on this IG at all to date. (If it has, it's been done under a different name - nothing has yet been committed to to the github project for the IG.) Bob or Viet would need to comment on current plans.

This use case was not started earlier due to other priorities. The official kickoff for Cost Transparency will be later this month for the STU1.
