Topic: Rename Confluence calendar event type?
Dave deBronkart (Jul 29 2020 at 21:45):
Is @Joshua Procious the Confluence guru? Whoever it is ...
The Patient Empowerment WG is learning its way around; we've created our first Confluence Calendar: Patient Empowermt WG meetings, listing our various calls.
Of course, Confluence calendars don't work like other calendars :smile: so I have to ask for help. I learned too late that I should have created each team's calls as a separate "event type." They're all populated now, and I just want to rename them, but I can't find a way to do that. (Specifically, rename "Team call" to "Pt Contributed Data" and "Events" to "Patient Corrections.")
How to do?

Psst -> #JIRA/Confluence :smile:

Now, how to do it.

Select "Edit" at top right of the calendar > Event Types (on left) > Select the pencil icon next to the custom event type at the bottom of the list.
Joshua Procious (Jul 30 2020 at 11:15):
From here just edit and save then "ok".

Now there are a few standard event types... one of them being "Events". These cannot be renamed this way. So first we needed to create a new custom event type (which is found in that first edit screen at the very bottom) and name it. Then we go to the calendar itself and select one of the entries for the "Events" type.

Make sure "Edit this instance only" is unchecked then select the new even type at the top drop down and finally select "OK".

As a last little step to change the color so it's looking more user friendly, you can just select the ellipsis next to the event type on the right hand side of the calendar and pick a new color.
