Topic: Not directly FHIR per se but interesting use of tech....

Who knows maybe it is FHIR underneath :-) We've been doing all the recording of UK vaccinations via Pinnacle & the start of the year was a joy but now..... hooking into those records for international travel passport......an interesting use I don't think ppl had initially considered ( though it used to be the case (still is?) in many countries that you had to show your yellow fever etc inoculations before they'd give you a visa so.... in one sense not that new.

every country wants an internationally recognised covid immunization passport, but every country is designing their own system. We in the FHIR community know how that game ends
Josh Mandel (Apr 28 2021 at 21:21):
https://smarthealth.cards supports many use cases for signed FHIR data (including verifiable vaccination records). Discussion at #smart/health-cards, and Connectathon track coming up in May!

(Having said this, there's a lot of other projects with ongoing work in this space leveraging FHIR infrastructure, including logical models and structure maps -- e.g., EU's proposed Green Certificate and WHO's forthcoming Smart Vaccination Certificate guidance.)

and the ICC's AOKpass
Josh Mandel (Apr 28 2021 at 22:25):
Does AOKpass use FHIR in some way? I hadn't seen this.
