I’m new here and trying to research HL7 and FLIR standards to understand the work involved in feeding certain types of document into UK NHS systems to associate them with particular electronic patient records. I'm a newcomer to these standards and so looking for anyone (perhaps in the UK) who already does this sort of thing and perhaps can point me in the right direction and/or provide some advice along the way? Or perhaps point me at a third-party SDK / library that already handles this sort of thing? Thanks in advance.

Thanks I'll see if Rik is able to chat. In the meantime I'll look at his nproduct web pages.

What kind of documents? Pdf/word or structured FHIR documents.

For structured FHIR google transfer of care, this sets a number of standards for sending documents from hospitals to primary care.

Can answer in the large. To a degree it depends on your clinical record. Some things are ingested as structured data and are thus added in a structured way (e.g. into a DB) & some are "documents" and are appended onto the clinical record (e.g. a discharge notification) & may thus be transformed into a pdf & then attached
