A tip I give out pretty often to make your Zulip be a lot more responsive - put in gibberish into the USERS field top-right to remove the list of visible users:

This would be a great feature request for the Zulip core - only show online people unless searching, that would make the list FAR shorter, and likely have the same performance improvement?

On a somewhat related note, I've been having two issues with the Windows desktop app: (1) the compose box is about 1/4 of the width of the message column (for example, this message wordwraps just after "I've" at the start of the paragraph), (2) I cannot change any settings (subscribed streams, etc.) from the app, either from the settings icon at the top right, or the icon in the stream list.
I was seeing this before and after the recent server upgrade.
Has anyone else seen this?

No, I'm running the other desktop app, version 0.5.1 I think. I tried the electron one at one point and reverted back to the other app for some reason, but I don't recall why.

OK -- I think the old app is unsupported and the recommendation is to upgrade.

So, now that I've installed the electron app, I remember the issue -- the task bar icon doesn't show the unread count.
