Topic: Madrid connectathon
Michele Mottini (Mar 05 2017 at 21:29):
Should we expect the c'thon in Madrid to be similar to the ones in the US? Or less people, or different tracks being in Europe?
Michele Mottini (Mar 05 2017 at 21:30):
(trying to plan and decide to go or not)
Grahame Grieve (Mar 05 2017 at 23:51):
the last one in Europe was in Paris, and had similar numbers and tracks. (some US poeple not there, but more europeans there)
Mario Hyland (Mar 06 2017 at 14:19):
I believe we will be working to have the same FHIR Introduction session (Saturday AM) as we had at Connect-a-thon 14 (widely attended) followed up with a session on FHIR Testing (Test Script Resources) and Testing Tools (Test-Driven-Development - TDD) and how FHIR approach to testing can accelerate FHIR implementations while mitigating Interoperability and Conformance issues caused by implementaion flaws while interpretating standards.
Michele Mottini (Mar 07 2017 at 12:16):
Thanks Grahame & Mario
Jeffrey Danford (Mar 09 2017 at 17:48):
Any information about when the tracks will be announced? I'm trying to convince people I need to attend.
Lloyd McKenzie (Mar 09 2017 at 18:38):
Announcement soliciting track proposals should be coming out today. (We're a bit behind as we've been focused on getting R3 out the door.)
nicola (RIO/SS) (Mar 14 2017 at 19:14):
@Lloyd McKenzie may i do some presentation in Madrid about my crazy ideas?
Lloyd McKenzie (Mar 14 2017 at 21:37):
Of course! Crazy ideas are always welcome :> The question is what's the right forum. Are you there for the whole week or just at the connectathon?
nicola (RIO/SS) (Mar 15 2017 at 10:10):
@Lloyd McKenzie i would like to be for a week!
Lloyd McKenzie (Mar 15 2017 at 14:48):
There are several possibilities - a Sat. night discussion, a presentation Sun. Q3 or Q4, some of our time Mon. am or one of the other evenings
nicola (RIO/SS) (Mar 16 2017 at 05:40):
@Lloyd McKenzie any relevant meeting
Grahame Grieve (Mar 16 2017 at 06:51):
depends what the crazy ideas are
Grahame Grieve (Mar 16 2017 at 06:52):
typically, yours are from all over the spectrum
Jose Costa Teixeira (Mar 17 2017 at 13:33):
Well, when I hear "session on crazy ideas" i want to join, but if I hear "all over the spectrum" then I really want to buy a ticket.
Jenni Syed (May 06 2017 at 16:35):
For those of you that have been staring at code all day at the connectathon, and need a small entertainment break that focuses in on the weirdness in programming languages: https://www.destroyallsoftware.com/talks/wat
Jenni Syed (May 06 2017 at 16:36):
my favorite lightning talk of all time, so far
Jenni Syed (May 06 2017 at 16:36):
And yes, the audio is important :)
Grahame Grieve (May 06 2017 at 20:01):
very funny
Grahame Grieve (May 06 2017 at 20:08):
could we do something similar in FHIR?
Yunwei Wang (May 06 2017 at 20:38):
This is the one I like most: Why JavaScript sucks by Daniel Kurka. If you don't have 30 minute to watch the whole session, you can start from 7 minutes mark.
