Just a quick note that there's still a week to register for FHIR North. For $150 (Canadian!), you get almost 20 hours of content plus networking opportunities. Some of the sessions I'm looking forward to include "If FHIR is so easy, why is it so hard?", "How to build an interoperable IG - that will get adopted", "FHIR as an EMR import/export standard", and of course Grahame's closing keynote "10 year systems review: Is FHIR having a healthy outcome?".
And because it's all virtual, you don't even have to brave an October in Hamilton. (We'll even let in non-Canadians).

Hamilton in October is lovely! Stop badmouthing this beautiful city!

Even I can't say that with a straight face.

It's much warmer than January? :)

The nicest thing about Hamilton in October is that it isn't Toronto in October?

Hey, it's at least not raining all the time. That's all I got

@David Pyke Support from another much (and unfairly) maligned city named Hamilton.

  • In Vancouver, if you can see the north shore mountains, it means rain is imminent; if you can't see the mountains, it's because it's already raining.
  • Tomorrow's forecast for Vancouver calls for rain, expected to let up by May.

@Elliot Silver Ah, just like home here in Seattle.

Love Vancouver - not a drop of rain during the SNOMED Expo & Meeting in Oct 2018. Spent 2 summers with my family there back in the day - heatwaves both times. :) Maybe I should spend more time there?

If we invite you to Edmonton, does that mean it won't snow @Peter Jordan?

view this post on Zulip Elliot Silver (Oct 06 2021 at 02:54):

@Peter Jordan , you didn't happen to stop by recently, did you? We hit all-time Canadian heat records in BC last summer.

@Lloyd McKenzie - I only visit Alberta in mid-Summer, so I'm reasonably confident that it won't snow then.
@Elliot Silver - if, only - can't wait to go back to Vancouver again.
