Hi, I run a Healthcare company in India. We are planning to expand our horizons to providing EHR services to our patients. I now have to hire a CTO who can run a team to build world class EHR. What are the qualification and skills should i be looking for in that person to ensure a good knowledge of EHR / FHIR?

Are you building from scratch or are you planning on implementing an existing system with customization?

@David Pyke We will be building from scratch. Mechanism where doctors and patients can store their health data. In a user friendly manner.

You'll need someone with an understanding of software development life cycle, clinical workflows and interoperability standards. Likely someone with CMIO experience and an interoperability background. Good luck!

Also someone who understands that what users say they want - and what they actually want - isn't necessarily the same. As well, someone who can oversee the balancing of conflicting requirements from different sets of users as well as regulatory requirements.
