@Rien Wertheim is probably best positioned to respond - but I don't think DevDays is a huge money-maker.

I disagree that it's expensive @Brendan Keeler , compared to all the learning content that is provided and to what you'd pay to a commercial training vendor. DevDays is not a huge moneymaker indeed, but the only reason we can continue this event is that it does have a sustainable business model. I do hope you can come to Cleveland or attend online.
