I'm putting together a presentation on CQRS & ES and wanted to include how FHIR would fit into this paradigm. Does anyone have any resources they'd recommend on this topic?
Grahame Grieve (Sep 16 2016 at 22:58):
what's CQRS and what's event sourcing?

Here is a good overview of the patterns and their application to EHR systems https://www.infoq.com/articles/healthcare-emr-ehr
Peter Jordan (Sep 17 2016 at 01:25):
Much better, although far lengthier, descriptions of CQRS and Event Sourcing here...

Detailed analysis of how FHIR fits into these patterns, and the broader approach of Domain Driven Design, would make for an interesting research paper.

" Clearly, a balance must be stricken to maintain the fidelity (i.e. eventual consistency) of the read cache for this approach to be useful" - umm, yes. I'd love to see him try to take this idea to market
