Does anyone know of any similar chat forums, just for CCOW instead? I'm specifically looking for books(or other resources) that a CCOW-newcomer would benefit from....

Closest thing to CCOW in FHIR is the SMART 'launch context'.

The INM WG is repsonsible for CCOW; there haven't been alot of activities around CCOW as of late. You can sign up to a good old fashioned e-mail list at HL7.org / work groups / list servs.
