Hi all, I am a student at UW looking into FHIR and integrations as related to the opioid crisis. I just found this chat and am hoping to ask someone knowledgeable regarding the current status of launch/implementation in various medical systems and states -- if this is not a good place to ask, please redirect me!

Thanks for routing, @Lloyd McKenzie . In particular, I am wondering if there is a way for me to see which systems already implement/use http://build.fhir.org/ig/cqframework/opioid-cds/ and if there is any research/evidence about the success of the system in yielding better prescriptions in places it has launched. I see that at least UW and Swedish hospitals have FHIR endpoints already -- curious if they are being used and if so for what purposes (e.g., https://fhir.epic.medical.washington.edu/FHIR-Proxy/api/FHIR/DSTU2/). Thank you in advance!
Bryn Rhodes (Feb 14 2019 at 14:03):
Hi @Dina B there are currently two pilot projects working on demonstrating integration, with more planned. The project page for that work (on ONC TechLabs) is here.
Isaac Vetter (Feb 15 2019 at 17:30):
Hey Dina B, to expand on Bryn's answer - FHIR support for the opioid-cds implementation guide isn't yet widely available.
Isaac Vetter (Feb 15 2019 at 17:30):
You can see the capabilities of the prod UW FHIR server by looking at it's metadata url. It looks like it's primarily exposing a base set of FHIR resources intended to share a common data set for a patient's clinical data with authorized apps.

Thank you @Isaac Vetter and @Bryn Rhodes for the details! Is there a place I can go to sign up for updates or such in this space? It's exciting stuff!
