Topic: Replacing requests vs. supplementing requests
Lloyd McKenzie (Aug 12 2018 at 19:12):
I presume that if you want to propose a replacement order, you would send a suggestion that contains a request to delete the current order and create the new alternative. Whereas if you wanted to supplement the current order, you would omit the delete request. Is that accurate? Also, if you're asking for a 'delete', do you need to include anything more than the bare minimum mandatory elements?
Lloyd McKenzie (Aug 14 2018 at 02:22):
You can ignore the second question, but would still like to confirm the first.

Yes, confirmed. This is contrasted with an update, which would supplement the current order.
Lloyd McKenzie (Aug 14 2018 at 02:58):
Is it worth making that explicit in the spec? Perhaps as an example?
Isaac Vetter (Aug 14 2018 at 02:59):
sure
Isaac Vetter (Aug 14 2018 at 02:59):

Lloyd McKenzie (Aug 14 2018 at 03:06):
