Stream: cds hooks
Topic: Interview Q7
Josh Mandel (Mar 03 2020 at 22:31):
What do you see as the next steps for the advancement of this standard?
So, my sense is that big-picture we want to improve support for existing functionality; get feedback that will help us improve functionality over time; and build out a high-priority set of new features that we've already identified. On the of new features, there's a brief overview of areas we want to explore for future scope on the wiki, and of course a view of in-progress improvements at https://github.com/cds-hooks/docs/pulls. @Isaac Vetter it'd be lovely if you wanted to chime in with additional context here.
Isaac Vetter (Mar 11 2020 at 04:56):
Hey Michaela. We're looking at three distinct areas to advance the CDS Hooks Project --
Isaac Vetter (Mar 11 2020 at 04:56):
1) Adoption - by hospitals, services and clients.
Isaac Vetter (Mar 11 2020 at 04:56):
2) Performance - setting expectations and providing guidance to help developers ensure their services are a joy for clinicians.
Isaac Vetter (Mar 11 2020 at 04:56):
3) Accessibility -- of the spec, of the sandbox, of libraries and other tools needed by developers.
Josh Mandel (Mar 11 2020 at 14:04):
@Isaac Vetter You're not including specification / feature development in the top three? Do you think of it as a close fourth? If not, I would suggest that our efforts are misaligned (i.e., we are spending too much effort on spec stuff and not nearly enough time building).
