@Josh Mandel I just started reading about FHIRCast today, but it seems to solve many of the things you mention in your blog post. You're thoughts?
Josh Mandel (Sep 29 2018 at 19:01):
There's certainly some overlap -- this scope here is much narrower, and for tomorrow's 9a discussion it's really just #4 that's relevant.
Isaac Vetter (Sep 29 2018 at 19:04):
Josh - please correct me if you disagree.
@Tejay Cardon - the proposal in thoughts on inter app communication is fundamentally limited to web applications embedded within an iframe.
It could still be really valuable - web apps embedded within an iframe is a super common scenario. It doesn't solve multi-machine synchronization, or desktop app synchronization, or even non-embedded web apps.

Excellent point. I think awareness of what FHIR cast is doing is an important consideration. Ideally we'd follow the same pattern, but perhaps in a simpler/narrower approach
Matt Varghese (Sep 29 2018 at 19:56):
We have a PostMessage based API that integrates between our App platform and the hosted app inside, that does some of this in an Epic Specific way.
However, I would consider this SMART on FHIR, and completely unrelated to CDS Hooks?
(Update: Talked to @Josh Mandel - this is a SMART App problem, which affects SMART Apps from CDS Hooks as well.)
Kevin Olbrich (Sep 30 2018 at 14:12):
@Matt Varghese is there some documentation around the PostMessage support in Epic?
